Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Commitment
PlotWeaver was built as a local-first writing studio. There are no accounts, tracking pixels, or hidden exports—everything happens inside your browser so drafts stay yours.
This page explains exactly what data exists, how long it lives, and how to audit it in seconds.
Local-First Storage
Stories, saved history, collections, practice stats, and UI preferences live in IndexedDB under your browser profile.
Clearing your browser data (or using a private window) immediately wipes that information. We cannot recover it because nothing syncs to our servers.
- Stories generated in any tool stay in IndexedDB until you delete them.
- Tool history entries are stored locally so Restore works even offline.
- Collections, favorites, and tags never leave the device.
What We Collect (Anonymous Analytics)
We load Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand which tools are popular. The script is cookieless and aggregates traffic trends only.
No personal identifiers are stored—just broad usage so we know where to invest design time.
- Visited URL and time on page (aggregated).
- Browser + device category.
- Country-level location.
- Referring site (e.g., newsletter, search engine).
What We Never Collect
Certain data is permanently out of scope for PlotWeaver. The app works without it and we prefer it that way.
- No emails, accounts, or logins.
- No story text or prompts are uploaded.
- No cookies, fingerprinting, or session identifiers.
- No advertising, remarketing, or social media pixels.
No AI or Remote Processing
Story generation relies on deterministic templates bundled with the site. We never send your text to AI APIs or remote workers.
You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and keep generating stories.
Share Links & Clipboard Behavior
When you choose Share, we encode the template ID, variable values, genre, structure, and the finished story into the URL hash. Recipients recreate the story entirely in their own browser—no server round trip.
Clipboard writes happen only when you click Copy or Share. If the browser blocks clipboard access, we surface the share modal with the link so you can copy it manually.
- Share URLs never hit our servers; they are strings you control.
- Encoded hashes expire only when you delete or regenerate the story.
- You can audit the payload by decoding the `share` parameter in DevTools.
Third-Party Services
Ahrefs Web Analytics is the only third-party script. It does not set cookies or build tracking profiles.
We do not embed ad networks, CDNs that inspect your data, or payment providers.
- No remarketing pixels.
- No social widgets that phone home.
- No AI inference APIs.
Data Retention & Your Rights
Because everything lives locally, you are the data controller. Delete, export, or audit without filing a request.
The Library page exposes your stories, exports generate plain text/JSON, and clearing browser storage removes everything instantly.
- Access: open Library → Writer's Library.
- Export: use Export buttons (TXT, JSON, PDF).
- Delete: remove individual stories or click Clear All Data.
- Opt-out: enable Do Not Track or block analytics.flashfictionpro.com.
Security & Young Writers
Security equals the security of your device. Use system logins, keep browsers updated, and export important drafts for backups.
PlotWeaver stores zero personal data, making it safe for students and classrooms.
- No central database to breach.
- No stored credentials.
- Children can use the tools without revealing identity.
Changes & Contact
We update this policy when functionality changes. The timestamp above always reflects the latest revision.

Quick Summary: Your stories, preferences, and practice stats never leave your browser. Share links embed an encoded snapshot inside the URL hash, and clipboard access only fires when you click Copy or Share.
