Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using PlotWeaver, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the site.

Description of Service

PlotWeaver is a free web-based tool for writers that provides:

• Instant flash fiction generation using pre-written templates
• Interactive story structure visualizations and educational content
• Opening line libraries and story seed generators
• Local browser storage for saving your generated stories
• Writing education and craft guidance

All story generation happens in your browser using deterministic templates—no AI models or external processing.

Your Rights to Generated Content

You own all stories you generate using PlotWeaver. This includes:

• You may publish generated stories anywhere (blogs, magazines, anthologies, etc.)
• You may edit, modify, and adapt generated content freely
• You may use generated content commercially
• No attribution to PlotWeaver is required

Important: While the specific wording of generated stories is unique to your session, the underlying templates and structures are reused. Multiple users may generate similar stories from the same template with different variable substitutions.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use PlotWeaver only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the service
• Use automated tools to scrape or download content in bulk
• Attempt to overwhelm our servers with excessive requests
• Use PlotWeaver to generate content that violates laws or third-party rights
• Misrepresent PlotWeaver's capabilities (e.g., claiming we use AI when we use templates)

Educational Purpose Disclaimer

PlotWeaver is designed as an educational tool for learning story structure and practicing writing techniques. Generated stories are demonstrations of narrative frameworks, not polished final works. We encourage you to:

• Use generated content as inspiration and starting points
• Revise and personalize any stories before publishing
• Treat PlotWeaver as a learning tool, not a replacement for original writing

No Warranty

PlotWeaver is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Generated stories will be unique, original, or free from similarities to existing works
• Story structures or writing advice will result in publishable work
• Your locally stored data will be preserved across browser updates or device changes

We strongly recommend regularly exporting and backing up any stories you want to keep.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlotWeaver and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data stored in your browser
• Damages resulting from use or inability to use the service
• Copyright issues arising from similarity between generated content and existing works
• Any consequences of publishing generated content

Copyright and Templates

The underlying story templates, educational content, structure diagrams, and opening lines are copyrighted by PlotWeaver. However, the specific stories generated for you are yours to use freely (see "Your Rights to Generated Content" above).

You may not copy or redistribute the PlotWeaver template system itself, but you may use the output freely.

Third-Party Links

PlotWeaver contains links to partner websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of external sites.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PlotWeaver from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your publication of generated content
• Your violation of these Terms of Service
• Your violation of any third-party rights

Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue PlotWeaver at any time without notice
• Update templates, features, and educational content
• Change these Terms of Service (updates will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date)

Governing Law

Severability
